Hi there! My name is Joseph Mook, and I am a 2012 graduate with my B.M.E. (bachelor's of music education) from THE Ohio State University! I love all things music, so I couldn't think of a better path or profession for my life! If any of my services below interest you, please feel free to contact me!
I am currently and actively seeking private music students to teach at my "mini-studio" at my house in Westpark (see the map below). I can also drive to you, however I can only drive at most 10 miles out, due to time and budget constraints. I mostly teach piano, but I also love to teach violin, ukulele, trumpet, flute, clarinet, snare drum, and guitar. I am also very capable of teaching all other band and orchestra instruments. I charge $30 for a half hour, and discounted rates for longer lessons: $40 for 45 minutes and $50 for a full hour. Right now I am focused on establishing a large student base in the CLEVELAND area, so if you or a loved one here in Cleveland wants to learn an instrument, let me know and we'll get started! Additionally, I can teach virtually, so all you need is a device with internet connection and camera, and we can have lessons no matter where in the world you are!
I also am willing to perform for your special occasions, such as weddings, graduations, reunions, and birthday parties. I can perform in any genre on the piano, ranging of course from classical, to jazz, to pop, rock, country....really anything under the sun that will be sure to please you and your audience! My secondary instruments, trumpet and violin, are more limited in scope of performance level and genres, but I can still work with you on your preferred style and taste. I charge $300 per hour of performance time (including dress rehearsals).
Related to gig performances, if you are a solo musician in need of an accompanist, I am your man! I have many years of experience accompanying both for soloists and choirs, starting from my early high school years, and progressing through my college education. I know very well all the nuances and intricacies of following a soloist or group and enhancing the performance experience. I charge $50 per half hour practice session as well as performances.
Lastly, and this is something I've recently added due to friends asking me for this service, I compose songs and pieces for whatever purpose you desire! Whether it be setting some lyrics you jotted down to a gorgeous melody, or needing a new and unique music soundtrack for your website, I've got you covered! Pricing is $100 per hour worked, but I am open to a sliding scale.
